Default Gold, Faction, and Bots

It is now possible to buy faction from mercenaries who farm it. There is no way to prevent people from buying gold on-line at several sources, notably e-bay. Although, I have seen a sight advertise the sales of gold and leveling right on one very popular forum. (Not this one.) The opportunity to make gold went up some with the incoming of costly titles, skills purchases on all skills, and the influx of more items and gold sinks.

All this has left me with the uneasy feeling that the real gold botting might possibly be done by ANet or someone connected to them. It is easy to be free to the public if an underground black market of the product infrasystem (currency) creates a higher flow of revenue in real terms. It is well known forbidden products carry more psychological appeal. This is especially true among those that are younger, though not always.

Should ANet own up to botting for gold and creating an underground market, if they are? If this is what they have been doing what would you feel about it? I personally feel their actions look so much this way it is among the many issues affecting my willingness to consider playing the game. I played almost daily for 9 months. I played enough to develop Carpol Tunnel, just in the primary hand used for combat playing this game. In that amount of time I broke 100k once. I know others that went greens hunting, stood around selling, etc., etc. They never managed to do any better.

I do not now, nor will I ever believe anyone that they have within the EULA achieved millions or even 100,000's of gold without cheats, special considerations not available to regular players, or buying their gold. Given the success of gold sales ventures, and the number of players who claim it, I can only at this point surmise that it may be an underground source of revenue for ANet, and ask that if it is ANet come clean and admit their changes are to inspire more of it.

I am one that has lost faith in ANet over a number of issues. The lack of ability to get anywhere honestly is one of them. If they are behind the alternative I would like to see them open up and deal honestly with us concerning it.

CONSPIRACY THEORIES: PART 1

or maybe, just maybe, there really are sweat shops with people playing guild wars all day long! And, quite possibly, not being employed by anet! You propose that anet is botting themselves, well, if they wanted to generate in-game gold to sell, that's it. They'd hit a button, and they have as much gold as they want. No need to have a Mo/W with 55 health killing minotaur all day long every day, just hit a button?..

Yep, and since they know some few will do it why shouldn't they be the best at it. They can count on you to discredit anyone that would think them guilty of it. Nor do they have to be employed by ANet for people in ANet or related subsidiaries to benefit in some manner. Look at how legistlatures just happen to benefit from laws when no one else does, yet that is not considered a conspiracy - just government.

First, why is this in the Suggestions forum?

Two, what are you smoking, dude? Because whatever it is, it's rotting out your brain.

And three...the notion of some massive in-house conspiracy should never be entertained by anyone--especially in terms of GW and ANet, for two main reasons:

One, we've seen pictures of the "sweatshops." So they absolutely exist. There's no trickery going on here.

Two, anyone who gets themselves this worked up over some stupid conspiracy theory that they've convinced themselves exists...needs to get out more, because they're taking things way, way, way too seriously.

So given all of that...what's the point of this thread?

And...spell Carpal Tunnel syndrome correctly please. lol

First you imply that Anet are making their own bots to sell gold on the internet, then you imply that every person who has more than 100k in their bank are cheaters or buy their gold from ebay.........

All all this made in a suggestion forum???

Sorry to sound policing but normally such a post is closed on basis of slander.

Just because you can't break 100k doesn't mean anyone that does haxors it or ebays. 9 months for 100k? dont buy all that useless crap. Yes I mean golds, perfect mods, and/or 15k. I made 100k in 3 days buying low and selling high during the downtime when i was waiting for my guild to get some pvp started.

I am sure Anet needs to create bot running monk farmers for 24/7 farming/merchanting, rather than simply adding the gold they wanted to sell in 2 seconds via the engine.

Yep, great thought sparky.
